The weather in summer is usually quite warm, and there is enormous potential for a full range of outdoor facilities.

The local tourist offices (Syndicat d’Initatives) arrange a full programme of walks and interesting activities.

Swimming:
Summer in Morzine In Lake Geneva at Sciez/ Thonon etc, or in special complexes by the lake at Thonon and Evian – all have water chutes. Lake Montriond – on the road to Morzine, has a specially constructed beach area at the end of the lake, or try the olympic size swimming pool at Morzine, which also has several childrens pools and a water slide.

Mountain Walking:
Directly from the chalet, you can walk up the quiet lane and onto the mountain tracks behind. The two hours to the very top reveals magnificent views to Mont Blanc. Special maps locate the many walks and several resorts have ski lifts working, such as Mont Chery at Les Gets, and Grande Terche in St Jean d’aulps. For the more experienced walker, there are overnight refuges to allow you to wonder the higher tracks.

Mountain Biking:
Many lifts and telecabines have special holders for bikes which can be hired in all resorts and at the ski shop in St Jean d’Aulps.

Horse Riding:
There is a riding school near the swimming pool in Morzine.

Tennis:
Courts at le Biot and St Jean d’Aulps nearby, are easily booked and there are many courts in Morzine. All have practice walls.

Canoeing and Rafting:
Special trips can be made down at the gorge and at Thonon.

Touring:
This is an excellent region for touring into Italy or Switzerland with lots to see and enjoy. There are local places of interest at Le Jotty (the gorge), Lindarets (village of goats), Les Gets (music museum and train for the children), Morzine and Evian to name but a few.

Summer Chalet TerraceAreas such as Samoens (excellent alpine garden), Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva are always well worth a visit. Across the valley is the pass of Col de Corbier which leads into Abondance, and here there is an interesting monastery and local cheese making farms.

Or simply relaxing:
Our terrace garden has a lovely sunny situation and there is furniture and sun decking on which you can just sit and enjoy the mountain views. There is a small barbeque – just buy some of the local savoyard sausages and wine and enjoy the summer evenings.
